LaxDawg14, I think my son wants to settle on Champ as well. I heard (for whatever reason??) it's good to have a two syllable name for a dog, so was trying to get my son to agree to Shockley (have his pic on my game room wall after winning the SEC).

wlayton, if you wanted to go way back and simple you could go with Charlie(Trippi). Sir Charlie Champ Shockley??? I dunno....:cheer:

Bulldogs are indeed special dogs. Strong and tough yet the most fun loving and affectionate dogs. With ours I have never seen a dog try so hard to be part of everything going on in the house. Mine loves to be close and right at your feet no matter what. They are great with kids too.

They are high maintenance, but well worth every bit if wrinkle, fold and and butt wiping you will do in the course of their life. We have actually worked with mine and taught him to sit, shake, lay down and go to bed on command. Not easy to do for some of the most stubborn dogs. Somehow we lucked out and got a smart yet not hard headed one.

Okay I'm done bragging about my buddy now! Hope everyone enjoys theirs as much as we do ours and has one(or more) for the right reasons and not jsut as a status symbol, football fan or alumni.

They are high maintenance. They get a bum rap. They are very intellegent dogs but will do things their way.

Well, we picked him up today and he is just great. Playful but also very calm and not wild like the one I had 10 years ago. Loves affection and can't get enough attention, although he's worn out right now and is asleep. Already knows not to \"go\" in the house which is a good start too. We decided to name him DJ because Shockley has always been one of my favorites. Now trying to think of the registered name (man that's hard). How about Sir DJ \"Shock and Awe\" SEC Champ '05. Stole some of that from DawgnLA, thanks DawgnLA!!

Thanks again guys for all your support!! Ya'll have been great.....man, what a forum!!
