The stars are aligning for an Oklahoma-Florida national championship game. I really would like to see Alabama win it all, but I just don't see them stopping Florida. I don't think they have the offensive firepower to hang with the Gators, and playing good D against Florida means holding them to 35 points instead of 50 something. Bama also had what amounts to a cupcake schedule this year, when you consider that Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, and Auburn all fell off the map. It won't be as bad as what Florida's been doing to folks like us and FSU, but I'm not expecting it to be real close either. Florida's defense looks great on paper. They've only had more than 20 scored on them twice all season. Calling it Florida 38 Bama 24.
As for Ok-can't-win-a-BCS-game-lahoma, they've been torching everything in sight lately. Four straight 60+ point games. They DO have a D, but it has been inconsistent. They hold the incredible Mad Scientist Texas Tech offense to 14 points and then turn around and let Oklahoma State score 41 on them.
I think we'll have a shootout on our hands if these two meet up, but Oklahoma won't be able to hang 50 on a Gators D that has only allowed more than 20 points twice. It all depends on which Oklahoma D shows up. If its the D that held Texas Tech to 14, it should be a good night for the Sooners. If its Oklahoma's normal Big 12 D, Florida will score at will and hold Oklahoma to a high-for-most-teams-but-low-for-them type figure.
Calling it: Florida 49, Oklahoma 38
