I agree, Goose. That's why 2006 was such a sweet victory; Tech was far better than we were that year and were widely picked to destroy Wake Forest in the ACC title game. We beat them Stafford-to-Massaquoi and effectively ended their season.
Doesn't mean 11/29 will be an easy day, though. Miami's no slouch; they beat Wake, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Of course, Wake was having a gigantic slump at the time without Sam Swank, and Virginia Tech is a shell of themselves this year. And Virginia is, well, Virginia, no matter how good a year they're having. But Miami's strength is their defense, and GT torched them. I know that one week doesn't necessarily inform the next (one need only look to our offensive performance against LSU and then our offensive output against Florida a week later to determine that), but Tech did look good last night. They did it on short rest, and now they have a week and a half to prepare for us. And we have weaknesses this year. Just as it would be satisfying to kill their buzz (no pun intended) after such a huge win, it would be immensely satisfying to them to end their drought against us in a year when we were picked #1 preseason.
Make no mistake: Tech wants this game BADLY. Our Dawgs have to come out hungry, angry, mean-spirited and run-up-the-score-minded. The week of hate is upon us, gentlemen. TIME TO HUNKER DOWN AND BITE IN DEEP!
