Hey guys. I found an interesting article about the economics of big-time Division I programs. They talked about Texas Tech and the amount of spending by the school for the football program from 96-06. Interesting read. The graph on the last page drew my attention.
Apparently, UGA earns a little over $50 million a year in football revenues in 02-03 and 06-07 placing us in the top 5 but we spend only about 24% on the football program, making us the most thrifty program in the nation.
Being an econ grad I found it interesting and helps put the money issue in perspective. This proves that UGA isn't all about football.
