Watching the snow fall in Cleveland

Watching the snow fall in Cleveland was created by GooseDawg78
from my hotel room and reflecting on what has been a very trying season for our heroes back in Athens.

Sooooooo,
I've tired to avoid complaining this season and have been successful for the most part (though as fans, and humans, of course we are each one entitled to our own opinions) but I must say this:

When the preseason was upon us and the MEDIA (not the coaches, not the players, not us Dawg fans) tabbed UGA as the #1 team, I took a quick look at the schedule and though my Red & Black bleeding heart wanted to believe we that a 12-0 regular season was possible, even in my wildest imagination I thought 11-1 represented a DREAM season. 10-2 sure seemed to be the most likely outcome, and 9-3, or even 8-4 seemed more probable than 11-1. Now, if you would've told me before the season started that we would lose our best O-linemen, that his replacement would only make it through a few games, that our best D-linemen would never see the field, that we would lose our Senior MLB, that our TE's would be decimated by injuries, that our starting FB would miss half the season, that our secondary would lose a key player for half the season, and that we would still be 9-2 heading into the last Bye week, I'd have told you that you need to take off your Red-tinted sunglasses, put down the bottle, and open your eyes.

So we haven't played a complete game all year and yet we have ONLY lost to a currently ranked #1 Bama team that came into Athens w/the sole mission of making a statement to America that they were finally back and they played a darn near flawless game to boot. Then, we turned the ball over 4 times and literally handed the game to the most explosive offense in the country, and the current #4 team that came into the WLOCP rested, healthy, and w/a year's worth of revenge on their minds. You can belive as do I that we COULD'VE won those games but fact of the matter is, those are two teams that COULD'VE beaten every other team in the nation on those 2 given Saturdays. Nobody likes losing, but I contend that neither of these losses were as painful as the two losses we endured last year. It's really just the fact that these 2 losses are more fresh in our minds that make them so unbearable right now.

In a nutshell, I'M STILL DARN PROUD TO BE A GEORGIA BULLDOG and these Georgia players and the entire Georgia staff (CMR, CMB, and YES, even CWM included, regardless of what WE think they are doing wrong or where WE think they should go after this season is over) deserve our LOUDEST cheers when they FINALLY return home to Sanford next Saturday. If any changes are to be made, the OFF-season is the time to make them. Right now, anybody wearing Red and Black has my support and my sincere gratitude.

So, let's get over the disappointment caused by over inflated expectations and let's please just get back to being loyal, rabid, proud, barking Dawg fans. Then and only then we will truly be able to fully enjoy 8 straight wins over the Nerds from the NATS.

TIME FOR DAWG FANS TO HUNKER DOWN!!!
