Why does WM still have a job? Obviously, CMR thinks highly of him, but WMs defenses seem to underperform the talent level they possess. I'm wondering if CMR is letting his personal feelings for his friend overweigh the common sense act of cutting WM loose. Of course, there may be another reason. Perhaps this year is part of a longer term plan to build up the defensive side of the ball, a plan that includes accepting mediocrity. Hopefully, some decision will be made in the off season. I still think the UT job would be the gig for WM.

If it is personal feelings that are guiding Coach Richt's decision, I have two words for him---
Jeff Bowden.

I just know it's not going to happen(firing Willie). I am worried though, but hopeful as to what will come of all this.
Still a very young group of pups out there. I remember the Gaytors having a horrible/young defense last year and look at 'em now!
It's a longshot, but KM and MS come back, the defense and o-line get more experience and improves and this team will dominate the SEC.
Even then the tenure and talent will be prevalent and not the coaching ability of WM. Good coaches coach up young and mediocre talent.
Just my .02

I agree, DawginLA, that he won't fire WM, and I'm not 100% convinced that firing WM would completely fix the problem. But Coach Richt needs to put his personal feelings aside and take an objective look at the D and be sure they are performing up to the level of the athletes that are on the field. Maybe, maybe not, just saying personal feelings shouldn't factor in.

i am totally sick of asher allen and prince miller in my opinion they are not that great and seem to miss a lot of tackles and get beat a lot I can't wait til there both gone and we can get some really talented cornerbacks in there.
