BTW.....just talked with my guy about CWM and he said he heard CMR STRONGLY backing and defending CWM last night in a press conference.

Maybe our personel just ISN'T very good. I do know that we have NO DE's that are worth anything....geez, they started a senior WALK ON at DE Sat (GULLY). With no pressure from the edge, you are in BIG trouble.

Anyway, my guy said CWM isn't going anywhere.

I think he just needs to look at what he used to be doing with his schemes and what VanGorder did when he was here! WM knows what he needs to be doing and giving these QB's all day to throw the ball is NOT it! I saw a few blitzes that came on time and worked to a tee, then I saw a couple delayed blitzes that didnt work at all! I know its a win lose situation but we cannot afford to let these guys keep sitting in the pocket doing their taxes! Gotta get some pressure and force quick throws, and disrupt the timing of these routes!

I noticed that also, #69 Gully got ZERO pressure and looked freakin LOST!! Who played that position last week?

I've written and re-written this thread several times and finally decided that the best approach is to be completely unrestrained and straight forward! STOP ACTING LIKE LITTLE FRIGGIN GIRLS!!!!!!...Jeeze Louise...seven flippin pages of hand wringing and belly aching....Do you feel better?!?!?!?!...

Here's a little slice of reality:

#1: As a youngster I recall one cold, wet and miserable November day when Tech was thrashing my Dawgs in Athens. Techs wishbone offense was unstoppable and we fell 34-14. That season we broke even, 6-6 and capped the season with a loss to Miami (OH) in the Tangerine Bowl....Guess who the Defensive Coordinator was?

Erk Russell, that's right, the man that is and will forever be remembered and revered. An icon, the creator of the \"Junk Yard Dawgs\". Small world, huh!

#2: We may never know the REAL story behind the departure of Coach Van, nor should we. CMR is a quality head coach and will not \"air the laundry\" for public consumption and scrutiny. Nonetheless, there WAS something there and the tension was palpable. Clearly ones track record should speak for itself...and where is he now????...Thought so!

#3: Please give the Will Muschamp issue it's well deserved and overdue funeral! If he wanted us he'd be here. If we wanted him, he'd be here! Any one care to research the last few times a UGA Offense squared off against UA Defense! Yah, Muschamp got schooled. He don't walk on water...do he???

Am I happy with this seasons defense, NO! However, I'm not about to lay absolute blame on one facet when so MANY other glaring issues remain undiscussed. What about our field general with a million dollor arm and a .10 head? What about receivers that don't catch, that doesn't happen with regularity, does it? What about our Offensive line? Playcalling? Special Teams? Hell, when it comes right down to it, it all comes back to Mark, right? Yah, let's fire him!?!?! Give it a rest!

We stand to finish the season strong, get a modest bowl, regroup, rebuild and start anew. Everyone wants and wanted more. Many predicted a two loss season, others hung on every preseason utterance. What I've learned from following these Dawgs for nearly 50 years, never expect, just enjoy the ride. The only ones that should take this personally are the ones that suit up and crack leather... Seriously, does the potential of an 11-2 season even remotely compare to the angst in Knoxville or Auburn? Have we become so jaded and spoiled that an 11-2 season isn't enough?

Seriously???....Please!........

GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GATA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, wlayton, that I don't think CWM is going anywhere, and firing him may not be the answer. I think CWM, Coach Richt, and all the defensive coaches need to have a pow-wow and accept the fact that this Tampa 2 or Cover 2 or what ever they call it, read and react type defense just isn't cutting it. Defenses need to attack, and intimidate the opposing offenses. Our D just appears to get bullied around too often. And I don't buy this \"Well, the other team had a short field to work with on several occasions because of a miscue on special teams or offense\" argument. So what? That sounds like the D is conceding the fact that if they have a short field to defend, it's a given the other team is going to score. They need to man up, pound their chests, and give off the message, \"We don't care if you get 4 cracks from the 1 yard line, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO SCORE!!!\" I think alot of our D's problem is in the attitude that is garnered by a Read and React, bend don't break style defense. Just my observations, no statement of fact intended.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
