My Take on it

My Take on it was created by GatorinGA
First of all, I’m not here to rub it in anyone’s face (even though I was called out last week) as I do have a positive message for you Dawg fans. First my stump, Yes, the celebration last year WAS a big deal. Most of the country thought so except for Georgia supporters. I honestly believe that afterwards, Richt felt a little like the Japanese Emperor that bombed Pearl Harbor. This beat down was fate and now things will be level again going into next year. I am pessimistic about my Gators more than I should be but I had a really good feeling going into this one. To my amazement, all of my Dawg coworkers, workout partner, friends, etc. were overconfident to say the least. Last Friday, even with my reasoning that “Georgia hasn’t faced a team anywhere near Florida yet (maybe Alabama)”, they were still delusional. So needless to say Monday will be a lot of fun for me. Now if USC is still ahead of the Gators in the BCS, I’ll be pi**ed!

Now for the positives about the Dawgs. All the talk about fire Bobo and slamming CMR is ludicrous! The Dawgs have finished in the top 10 how many times under CMR??!! And they will again this year! Also, A.J. Green is the next Randy Moss! The guy is amazing! Even if Moreno leaves at the end of the year, there is also another awesome back in-waiting at UGA thanks to excellent recruiting by one Mark Richt. I have always thought Stafford was a great QB but I also have always thought he forces passes that aren’t there. Way too many INTs but his skills are there. If he truly is expected to be a top 10 draft pick then he has to leave and not risk blowing a multi-million dollar contract. Then Cox can enjoy his senior year. Hey, he did throw a nice TD pass that even had Gators back-up QB Cam Newton clapping (if you were still watching at that point). The Dawgs kept fighting yesterday and put up the most yards on the Gators defense all year.
BTW, my favorite play of the game came in the first UGA drive when Brandon Spikes absolutely leveled Moreno! Moreno and Stafford were hit harder in this game than they were all year and I am encouraged about our D that plays NO seniors.

Lastly, now I can go back to rooting for the Dawgs like I used to (before last year)

Couple of odds and ends......1st, Newton was SARCASTICALLY clapping for Cox's TD pass.......2nd, Stafford had to try to force some passes at that point in the game and the first pick by Haden was a hold......3rd, CMR's onside kick call was simply STUPID and I'm a HUGE CMR fan. You don't do that at a 7-3 game and are playing reasonably well at that point, actually on D ond O.....

Last but GREAT......did you see Stafford \"head butt\" Spikes after his last 4th down incompletetion and he was walking off the field. It totally took Spikes by surprise and MS was so slick in doing it that no refs saw it happen (ok, ok, know it was a little cheap but.....).

Hello everyone, this is my first post. I've read your topics and posts for about 2 years now. I'm sorry to say, I'm from Florida, but have been a HUGE Dawg fan since '81 or '82. I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy the 80's when we ruled supreme over the gayters, and suffered through the Goff Donnan years also. Ever since 90, there's been nothing harder than being a Dawg fan in central florida. Even with this loss which I will hear a ton about tomorrow at work and so on, my phone still hasn't stopped ringing btw, but even with this loss, I still hold my head high as a proud Dawg, and a proud gayter hater. My take is, I'm a huge CMR fan and have been since he stepped on to UGA field. My biggest problem has been with CWM, and that stems back to his first year. The game against auburn. We took the lead with I believe 2 minutes to go, kicked off to auburn and held for 3 downs. CWM goes into his prevent defense, rushes only 3 gives brandon cox all day to throw, he completes a pass and they take it to the 5 yard line, kick a field goal... game over. This seems to be on-going thing every year, or atleast everytime he rushes only 3 they always make a big play. Everyone says Championships are won with defense, and I just don't believe our defense is able to make that next step under CWM. As far as the game this past weekend, all I can say is so many blown opportunities, miscues, bad calls, or lack of calls period, and the main thing, we just plain shot ourselves in the foot repeatedly. These losses are hard to take, especially when living in the rival state, but I went to dinner tonight, proudly wearing my Dawg shirt and marking down the days till next year. Keep up the great posts, I've enjoyed reading what everyone's opinions are.
