First of all, I’m not here to rub it in anyone’s face (even though I was called out last week) as I do have a positive message for you Dawg fans. First my stump, Yes, the celebration last year WAS a big deal. Most of the country thought so except for Georgia supporters. I honestly believe that afterwards, Richt felt a little like the Japanese Emperor that bombed Pearl Harbor. This beat down was fate and now things will be level again going into next year. I am pessimistic about my Gators more than I should be but I had a really good feeling going into this one. To my amazement, all of my Dawg coworkers, workout partner, friends, etc. were overconfident to say the least. Last Friday, even with my reasoning that “Georgia hasn’t faced a team anywhere near Florida yet (maybe Alabama)”, they were still delusional. So needless to say Monday will be a lot of fun for me. Now if USC is still ahead of the Gators in the BCS, I’ll be pi**ed!
Now for the positives about the Dawgs. All the talk about fire Bobo and slamming CMR is ludicrous! The Dawgs have finished in the top 10 how many times under CMR??!! And they will again this year! Also, A.J. Green is the next Randy Moss! The guy is amazing! Even if Moreno leaves at the end of the year, there is also another awesome back in-waiting at UGA thanks to excellent recruiting by one Mark Richt. I have always thought Stafford was a great QB but I also have always thought he forces passes that aren’t there. Way too many INTs but his skills are there. If he truly is expected to be a top 10 draft pick then he has to leave and not risk blowing a multi-million dollar contract. Then Cox can enjoy his senior year. Hey, he did throw a nice TD pass that even had Gators back-up QB Cam Newton clapping (if you were still watching at that point). The Dawgs kept fighting yesterday and put up the most yards on the Gators defense all year.
BTW, my favorite play of the game came in the first UGA drive when Brandon Spikes absolutely leveled Moreno! Moreno and Stafford were hit harder in this game than they were all year and I am encouraged about our D that plays NO seniors.
Lastly, now I can go back to rooting for the Dawgs like I used to (before last year)
