I disagree.
We will burn the barn. LSU will struggle. Their offense is still shaky and their defense...well look at the point totals they gave up to Florida and to MSU, for goodness' sake. We have a dynamic offense, and our lack of experience on the O-line is balanced out by the fact that, for all the myth and legend around the LSU D, it's really just average this year. When you break it down by team, it's more telling than just looking at the numbers.
LSU allowed Appalachian State to score 13 points. Not bad, but App also isn't as good this year as they were last year, and LSU is not Michigan by any stretch.
LSU allowed North Texas to score 3 points. That'll drive your average down!
LSU allowed SCarolina to score 17 points. That's okay, we only allowed 7.
Now, on the flip side:
LSU allowed two teams that don't have an offense (Auburn and Mississippi State) to score 21 and 24 points, respectively. The only team that has an offense that they've faced this year, the detestable Gators, scored 51 on them.
You need to feel better about this game than you do, bigdaddy. LSU's only advantage -- and I mean their only advantage -- in this game is that we have to go to Baton Rouge. That's it. We win in a retro-waltz. Anyone care to take a trip back to 2004 with me?
