Tennessee Game

A win is a win...But we all know we should have won by much much more, it was great to see Southerland get some action and a TD but Chapas surprised me and played extremely well and had a big role. The play calling was great outside of the red zone but, our red zone play book needs a boost on both sides of the ball. As usual, our db's lost their receivers a few times and it hurt but pass rush was improved and I did notice we blitzed more. Our run defense dominated, Darryl Gamble impressed me and blew up numerous runs to the outside. Prince Miller should be the punt returner from now on. Stafford was on key, the AJ Green drop hurt. I thought Knowshon had a quiet game, but his stats were solid. One of the best improvements was that all the kickoffs were great except 1 was a little short. I think we definitely showed improvement, however the final score was deceiving.

I hate to be a pessimist but I think our pass D is soft and it is only a matter of time before they get torched. The run D is outstanding. I have no complaints there. Sometimes I think our pass D gives up the big play because we sell out to stop the run.

Our offense is good. I dont think we run very well up the middle but the outside stuff seems to be there almost all the time. The receivers are playing well this season. Massaquoi had an excellent game Sat. The screen that was picked was a bad decision on Stafford's part and the one in the endzone I think was just poor route running. Otherwise a solid game from out offense.

I don't think the Dawgs are as good as I thought coming into the season. We should have buried UT Sat. and let them hang around too long. I understand we have suffered some big injuries on both lines and that has hurt. We should be playing better. I know playing in the SEC is tough but it can only be used as an excuse so long.

Yeah that pick in the endzone was definitely a bad route. Our pass D is soft thanks to Coach Martinez' scheme of playing a very soft zone, we get burned at least 3-4 times a game from a botched coverage.

I agree with both of you.....you know what's deceiving though?....UT's defense is #1 in the SEC....who wudda thunk?

BTW, did ya'll know that Walsh had a migraine yesterday and had to have I-V's before the game....great performance by him, he's a real asset and going to be a great one.

Here is something that is not a suprise. Way up in the 600 section, I was sitting next to many many Vols fans. This is my first Vols game. I have never heard a group of people whine about the refs so much in my life. I have perfect eye sight. No one had binoculars, but they saw enough to say that the refs were wrong. I dunno, but I'm going to say the fans suck more than the Vols do.

I hear it every day. It will be interesting to listen to sports radio tomorrow.
