POLLS

i am getting very concerned witht he pollsters. we don't move up in the AP and move up one in the coaches poll. i realize it's still a young season but at this rate i'm not real sure if we win out that we get a chance at the NC. as long as we get the east championship and a chance to play for the SEC is ok with me. we played ok yesterday but hurt ourselves in the red zone by having 2 picks. i feel like we dominated the game and how in the hell does USC jump so far in the polls wagainst a banged up ASU team????? i wish some of the pollsters realize we are playing with a banged up team and are still winning!!! Alabama punched us in the mouth early and we didnt expect that but came out in the 2nd half and showed the nation the kind of football we are capable of playing!!!! these next three weeks we need to produce some ass kickings so the pollsters realize who UGA is!!!!!!

I agree, USC shouldn't move up that much, Texas Tech should drop for barely beating Nebraska at home in OT, and Oklahoma should drop more like we did when we lost to Bama.

Assuming (and this is a huge assumption) Georgia can win out and win the SEC championship with our loss to Bama as our only loss:

I've been going over scenarios in my head and, assuming we can do our part and win out the rest of the season and win the SEC championship with only one loss, the team that is actually the 800 pound gorilla in the room right now is Penn State, of all people. They are the team that is most likely to keep us out of the national championship game if we win out, as they only have one big game left against Ohio State. If they beat the Buckeyes, they'll probably go undefeated in the regular season, which means they would play the Big 12 champion in Miami for all the marbles, assuming that the big 12 champ is either undefeated or has only 1 loss.

USC, I'm not too concerned with. A 1 loss SEC champion will pass a 1 loss Pac-10 champion in the BCS because of strength of schedule and the extra game. A one loss SEC champion won't be able to knock a 1 loss Big 12 champion out of the BCS though.

Bottom line is that if Penn State is undefeated and the Big 12 winner only has one loss, the Dawgs won't be in the title game.

I guess Im an SEC homer but Im still not convinced the Big 12 is all that. They remind me of the PAC-10 in the 90s. The OU vs. Texas game was good but there was absolutely no defense. I think they combined for ~80pts. yesterday.

What I don't understand is all the love for USC. Seriously, they beat an under performing ASU team. Im not really impressed with Penn St. either. Who have they beaten. The best team so far is a #22 Illinois. Alabama is getting a ton of respect for stomping us at home. Yet, nobody cares they squeaked out a win against UK. We won 3 games early in the season and fell to #3. The hypocrisy astounds me. Don't even get me started on BYU.

As far as I am concerned I just want another SEC championship. The rest of it is all an exercise in media favoritism.

If I'm honest with myself, OU shouldn't have dropped as much as we did after losing to Bama because they weren't DOMINATED like we were in our game. And don't talk about how we scored 30 in the 2nd half, Bama came out just trying to run clock until we got within 14 then they punched us in the mouth again and put the game away by scoring 10 quick points. I certainly liked our character in that 2nd half though. Just believe our loss to Bama was MUCH worse than OU's to UT, geez, OU led most of the game.

Here's my problem. If we didn't pass over USC when they were idle and we won by the same voting why did Texas pass over BAMA when they had a bye? I know the answer. The media does not want another SEC team to be the MNC. Think about it. Look at what they have done with the polls since the begining of the season.
