Well . . .
Like most of you, I suppose, tough game to swallow. Promise you this, we were beaten by a team at this point that is better than we are. We were kicked in all phases of the game, coaching, talent, just pick a straw and name it.
What I won't do is say that this is not a good UGA football team. There is a tremendous amount of talent on this team. Young, yes. . . . much like Alabama, young and good.
Saban has brought the pro game to the SEC. Much like he did when he was the coach at LSU. His coaching staff reflects that. As much as I detest the way that he showed his butt in Miami, where he could not make a positive impression on that pro team, he has taken the game to Alabama where he can \"control\" these young men and make it work.
Saban has moved quickly to control the line of scrimmage, on both sides of the ball. Who would have thought that KM would be out gained by some of the backs on the UA squad? Not me, except for this reason. . . .they have a better offensive line than we have, and yes, I understand we have lost some good football players. Just don't need to make excuses.
Today I watched Tennessee/Auburn, Florida/Ole Miss, Mississippi State/LSU. After the game tonight against Alabama, there is not one of the above mentioned that I don't honestly believe that UGA can't beat. Tonight UGA got a lesson in intensity. Reminds me a bit of the game against UT last year, not quite the same as we came back in the second half and put forth some effort.
OK, what do I say now. I say this is a good football team, think that we will lose our QB and running back to the NFL. That is a turn around for me, just think after tonight, getting banged up a bit, these guys are going to have to think about the latter years.
I would be surprised is we don't meet Alabama in Atlanta later on. I have been around too long, seen too many games, know that this is what college football is all about. Go Dawgs!
