Heisman

I think in order to win the Heisman Trophy, Knowshon must do the following:

Georgia must run the table and Knowshon must rush for at least 1700 yards and at least 20 touchdowns.

He must have big games against quality opponents, which he necessarily will if he achieves those numbers, because just about everybody left on our schedule is a quality opponent. There is no way he'd hit the 1700/20 mark without lighting up at least 2 or 3 of Alabama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, or Georgia Tech and whoever we get in the SEC Championship game.

Missouri must also lose. Preferably the Big 12 championship game at the same time Georgia wins the SEC championship game. Twice, once in the regular season and once in the Big 12 title game, would be ideal.

Now, if Knowshon rushes for the requisite 1700 yards and breaks the SEC record for rushing touchdowns in a single season set by Teabag Tebow last year, then he's a lock no matter what Daniel does.

Good news: KnoMo's on the fast track to 20 TDs. He had 7 touchdowns ALL OF LAST YEAR. This year he already has nine, and we're only a third of the way through the season. That puts him on pace for 27 in the regular season, 31 if we play in the SEC game and a bowl.

Bad news: KnoMo's had two sub-century games, putting him on pace to only (!) run for 1368 this year, which is still more than his total last year. Of course, if he keeps catching passes out of the backfield and returns a few kicks, the old all-purpose stat will leap out.

Bottom line: Knowshon doesn't need the Heisman to legitimize him as ALREADY the third or fourth best back in UGA history (behind Herschel, Hearst and Trippi).

I don't this team cares about individual awards.
