Tennessee...

Well, Tennessee is being embarassed by Florida. This means that Lardo is back in the hot seat and a loss to the Dawgs almost assuredly means he will be gone at season's end (they won't fire him mid-season). This worries me, because Phat Phil's teams always seem to have the uncanny ability to step-up and raise their level of play when their coach's job is on the line. One several occassions this decade, we have been on the receiving end of an angry Vols team trying to save their coach. It looks like we're headed for another such situation this year and, if history repeats itself, that is not a good thing. So, we've got an angry Pac-10 team with something to prove tonight, a better-than-expected Alabama, and then an angry Vols team trying to bail their coach out. Gonna be a tough couple of weeks, friends.

UT's probably stuck with Phat Phil for another couple of years.

He was offered (and accepted) a phat, guaranted 4 year, multi-million (I've heard 8-10 range) dollar deal. If they do axe him, he takes the money and sits home (or does TV comentary for a couple hundred thou more) and not work (coach)- the ol' UT big orange parachute!

If/when he does go watch out for yippe skippy (Skip Holtz) to come to Obnoxville.

I wouldn't worry about UT right now. And when the game comes up, well, their team looks absolutely terrible. Now this game could have easily been much closer if they would have converted on two trips inside the 5. Yet they absolutely self destruct through the entire game. Plus they got no leadership whatsoever right now and I don't see that changing after a loss to Alabama next plus they have to come to our house... so... we'll see...

Vols are always dangerous as any tram in this beloved conference. Lardo's contract only pays it's best dividends if he wims 8 games each year, but he still gets phatter if they axe him after his year. 8 wins ooks like a stretch this year though. Looks like anyone could stack the box for Foster and put pressure on Crompton and beat the ugly orange team.

I'm telling you guys.....don't worry about UT, after the Alabama game, we have 2 weeks off and that is HUGE. Plenty of time to rest up and perfect preparation. We will DRILL UT...count on it!!

Now, you had better worry about Alabama. They are very physical. Our boys will be on a \"shortish\" week since their plane didn't get in until daybreak this morning. They need to catch up on rest and get prepared...not easy. Believe we are more talented than Alabama but it will be a tough game....interesting match-up too. Their strength is the run and our strength is SHUTTING DOWN THE RUN!!! The difference is going to be MS and Randy Moss...uh, er, uh, I mean.. A J Green.

'Bama will be tough, but I'm reminded of last year's 'bama team, that was 3-0 when we played them and the media had already annointed them SEC West champs and were so busy worshipping Osaban Been Lyin that they were shocked after we beat them and 'bama went on to lose 5 more games, including UL-Monroe. Will be a tough SEC game like usual, but I'm not ready to be star-struck by them just yet.

The SMART era CONTINUES!!!!!!
