The national polls are giving the Big Ten credit it hasn't deserved since the heyday of Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue. None of those schools has been worth much when playing out of conference lately. Until someone shows something from that conference, Ohio State is NOT as good as their record may indicate.

GREAT NEWS GUYS.....The guy from SI was on live today on a local sports talk show and since Sturdivant went down he has put OSU at number 1 and taken us off. He thinks that by the time our OL gels we may lose a game or two (feels losing that experienced LT REALLY hurts us) but that we are still an excellent team. (can't remember his name right now). I think it's GREAT NEWS that SI doesn't have us at #1 anymore......there goes the jinx!!!!!

although i dont belive in a jinx i still think thats good news. i didnt really want us to be #1. i want our team to be a little insulted at their rank and just destroy everyone to get the credit they diserve. maybe this will give them that little extra spark like the black shirts last year!!! We're undefeated in them. Maybe we should black out UT and or Bama. We haven't even had a close game in them. There is nothing i would like to see more (except NC!) than the complete and utter distruction of UT!

I read that on CNNSI too. Stewart Mandel is is name. I personally believe this whole O-Line jell argument is tired and overrated. These guys have been playing a ton of football over the course of their lives, they practice and scrimmage with each other etc. Plus, its put up or shut up time for the dawgs. Sturdivant was a big loss but I think we should be able to pull it together. If we lose a game, it wont be because of the O-Line.

Mandel forgets that Sturdivant was a true freshman last year and he hadn't even heard of him before...it's not like he was a 5th year senior that went down, granted he is very good. If Searels can do it last year with 2 freshmen, he can do it this year as well.
