Will Witherspoon. That kid could PLAY!!!

All of my lasting memories of Will Witherspoon took place in the NFL, since I'm a Panthers fan. For a period of three years, he was one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL, and between him and Julius Peppers, it didn't matter who you were, you were GOING to get sacked at least thrice per game. His last year at UGA was my first, 2002, and he had a big part in that magical season.

I can't remember what game it was or the team we were playing but I DO remember him blitzing and hitting their QB face mask to face mask and almost killing the guy. Vicious hit.

I can't believe i'm the first to say this but it was 1999 against LSU at Sanford and LSU scored with 18 seconds left and the score was 23 to 22 UGA and the LSU QB did a play action and rolled out to the right and the ENTIRE defense bit on the fake, except Will Witherspoon and there were 2 WIDE OPEN receivers in the end zone on the left side of the field and the QB threw it and I thought for sure that LSU just won but Will Witherspoon jumped higher than I have ever seen a football player jump and just got a finger on it and saved the game.

I DO remember that play.....unbelievable!!
