I love tailgating.
I don't care how much you love it, I love it more.
My goal in tailgating is 3 fold.
1. Have an AWESOME TIME: as in it doesn't matter if the game is won or lost, I tore it up with my buddies for a few hours and had a great time.
2. Get pictures made with girls out of my league. So what chance does a fat guy have with cute co-eds 10 years younger than he is? Plenty! If all you want is a picture and you can bake.
You will no doubtedly consider this either very cool or very gay, but I am the proud owner of a Williams and Sonoma bundt cake pan that is shaped like a football stadium. I use a recipe that I got from Jack Daniels, cover with red sprinkles, and voila, it's Sanford. Chicks dig this, and I often get approached at the UGA rugby tailgate for pictures, i dont even have to ask....of course I never get copies of them, but it's nice to knwo that i'm ruining some space on a sorority girl's memory card:)
3. Find that point of equilibrium. Enjoying myself just enough to where I both remember the game and don't have double vision. This is a bigger challenge than one might think. It involves front-loading, in stadium maintenence, and possible negation with diet coke and nachos. I still susbscribe to the espn.com rule that states if you don't have a rging hangover by the third quarter then you didn't do it right. For the record I ALWAYS have a DD.
my buddies and I tailgate out towards ramsey (telling you exactly where would be cheating, if you REALLY wanna meet up PM me) we have great access to the stadium and the bus route for the dawg walk....I really miss the golden days of being under the oaks at lumpkin and baxter....the fans have been sold out to corporate concerns and I hope someone's karma is taking the hit:)
by now I'm sounding like a lush...that's fine. These are the only days out of the year that I drink save for the Christmas in August holiday that my wife's family celebrates (which is being celebrated on a game day this year). I make them count.
