new forums and other changes.

As discussed previously in the forum a couple of weeks ago I am going to add the new forums today.

I am going to add an \"Other Sports\" forum to catch all the sports that do not have enough interest to assure they will have some messages.

I think the main criteria to get a new forum is a sport has to have a few posts occasionally so lets only create ones that will get some talk. Start small with a few forums.

It has been suggested to add baseball, gym, basketball, equestrian and golf.

Is that a good list? Lets hear some suggestions. We can rearrange them later if we need to add or delete forums that didn't work out.

I have also been thinking about having a private forum for invited members. The regulars would create the forum and people would have to be voted in by the group from then on. I don't know what we could do there since all the Dawg talk needs to be in public but there might be some use for it. Just a thought.

Apparently my efforts yesterday to make the site \"readable\" for those having problems worked. Is anyone else having jumbled screens? Be sure to refresh your browser then post here if still having problems.

The live chat room was tried a few years back. It is probably different today but I will go over the reasons we discontinued it.

1. The people we attracted were mostly smack talk.

2. We felt like the forum allowed near real time communications but everyone can read it since you don't have to be there in real time. A few folks hang around in big games and \"chat\" via the forum and others jump into the conversation later.

That said, I still think the forum works Ok for \"chat\". I am always open to discuss it further.
