NFL players- it's intersting that the last 2 superbowl champions were quarterbacked by the Mannings, SEC players.
Not to mention the last THREE Superbowl MVPs (Eli Manning - Ole Miss, Peyton Manning - Tennessee, Hines Ward - Georgia) are all SEC alums.
Not to mention that no conference has had more Superbowl MVPs (9) than the SEC. Bart Starr and Joe Namath, both Alabama alums, combined to win the first three MVPs. Terrell Davis (Denver), Jake Scott (Miami) and Hines Ward (Pittsburgh) all went to Georgia. Emmitt Smith went to Florida. I've already mentioned the Mannings. The closest any other conference comes is the Pac-10, with six. The ACC has five.
Not to mention that the last two holders of the title \"winningest quarterback in FBS history\" come from the SEC: Peyton Manning (39 victories) and his eventual eclipser, David Greene (42 victories). These are wins that did not come in the top-heavy WAC or MWC. These are wins against THE toughest competition in the country.
Not to mention that no conference has won more BCS Championships. Not to mention that our conference is the only one with a repeat BCS Champion in LSU. Not to mention that we CONSISTENTLY start and finish the year with at least two and sometimes three teams in the top ten and ended last year with the #1 (LSU) and #2 (UGA) teams in the country.
It ain't a fluke. It's just fact.
