Mark my words...

CMR isn't going anywhere, period!! He is so completely happy in Athens and is creating his legacy at UGA. He will never leave unless he's fired. He's such a solid man of his word, I believe you can certainly count on it when he says he happy and is going nowhere, plus IMO, he seems to really not \"play that coaching carousel game\" like others do. He just doesn't seem to ever put the spotlight on himself and those types of things aren't a priority in his life. Instead, his priorities are the Lord, his family, the athletes and then his job at UGA.

If Fisher doesn't work out at F$U, they will make CMR an offer. Bank on it. A big-time booster I work with told me this just yesterday. He said that Richt will be the first coach they go after if Fisher washes out at F$U......and they are only going to give Fisher about 4 seasons to get the ship righted down here. If FSU isn't back among the powers in college football by 2012, they will look at making CMR an offer.

I certainly would expect that they would. I also expect CMR will get many offers in the future, I'm just saying his priorities are in order and won't leave UGA.

It makes sense that FSU would make Richt an offer. However, that could be some time from now. I may have missed it, but has Bobby Bowden announced that this year will be his last? If not, there isn't any reason to believe he won't hang around a few more seasons. He keeps saying he has no desire to retire, and I don't doubt it. And there is no way FSU fires him, even if they keep going 9-4 or worse.

So if Bowden stays 3 or so more seasons and then Jimbo Fisher gets 4 years, it might be 7+ seasons before FSU is ready to call coach Richt. At that point, we should have about 2 more national titles and 3 or 4 more SEC championships under him. I simply don't see him walking away from what he's built at Georgia to undertake a rebuilding job, unless they pay him like 10 million a year.

So, they'll go after him, but they'll get the same result Florida got when it tried to lure Bob Stoops away from Oklahoma.

Notice how Miami didn't even bother to come after CMR during their most recent coaching change?

Coach Richt will be at Georgia until the day he retires.

Bobby Bowden was given only a 1-year extension on his contract at the end of last season. He named Jimbo Fisher as his hand-picked \"coach in waiting\" so to speak. All indications are that 08 will be his last season. I think he will be 80 in November, and the opinion amongst the F$U faithful is that he has lost his touch. No, he will never be \"fired\", but the admin over there is taking appropriate measures to get him to \"retire gracefully\" so that they won't have to force him out and create a big stink. Bowden has also made no secret of the fact that he is still a bit angry that the athletic director forced his son to resign under pressure in 06 as the offensive coordinator. He is only a figurehead now, anyway, much like his idol, Bear Bryant, was in the late years of his career. All he does now, according to my sources, is have press conferences, ride around the practice field in a golf cart, and stay in his coaching tower on the practice field. When the media asks him about the team, he deflects their questions to Fisher or to D-Coordinator Mickey Andrews.
