I think perhaps the downfall of CMU is that they schedule so many good out-of-conference teams. They've won the MAC the last two years running, but their schedule always has five losses on it because they're playing Georgia and Michigan and Boston College. I wonder what would happen if they scheduled some bottom-feeders (Wazzou, Baylor, Vandy, Duke) and tried to make a run for a higher-tier bowl, given the program they've got up there.
