Superdawgs' Super Regional

Non-Georgia residents need not worry; the game today is free on georgiadogs.com (audio only) as well as on ESPN. It began about an hour ago. As I did with the final win over Tech in the regional, I'll be reporting at the end of each inning for folks (especially you enlisted men and officers) who have neither access to a television nor permission to listen to your computers, just to read them.

So at the end of three, with Georgia the designated home team:

So the Wolfpack came out swinging in the third, hitting two solo shots off of Trevor Holder, but Georgia answered right back. And the BOTTOM of our order delivered in the bottom of the third, which means they may have snapped out of that anemic slumber they'd been in the full post season.

All four run, by the way, were scored with two outs. Georgia 4, NC State 2.

Let's win two and get to the big one.

Okay, usually I only report at the end of an inning, but after Trevor Holder threw his fourth strikeout of the game in the fourth inning, NC State's coach came out and asked the umpire to inspect Trevor's cap bill for a foreign substance. I've never heard of that at the college level, and our announcers Jeff Dantzler and Dave Johnston hadn't either. They were disgusted, and the crowd booed like someone was burning Uga with a branding iron. Anyone who wants to comment on this, please do, as I have had nothing but respect for NC State up until this point...but now I don't know. That's a low-class, filthy move, something a crybaby would do.

Nothing doing for either team in the fourth. Root for Trevor to shut 'em down in the fifth so we can tack on some more \"there's nothing under my cap, you jerk!\" runs for insurance!!!
