I don't think he should have been arrested. An unloaded gun should not be considered a weapon...Ticket for speeding he deserves.

Sometimes I think the campus police and the Athens police go out of their way to make a big issue over catching a player doing something. I think they go out of their way to TRY and catch a player so that they will be on the front of the AJC. I also didn't think it was a big charge to have an unloaded gun. Kinda like a hunter with an unloaded rifle on a gun rack in the truck, if you ask me.

I agree with ya'll but.....what in the world is he doing with a gun at school anyway? (unless a shotgun etc for hunting)

People that don't like football, hate football players...Anyone who played in high-school or college knows that most of the professors and members of faculty love you, but there is those few that dont like football and they are always on your case and punish you for things that normal students get away with. I guarantee that if this were a normal student who had an unloaded gun and told the officer he did, then he would not have gotten arrested....Im sure there are other players on the team with guns too, and Coach Richt will use this as an example and make sure this won't happen again.

They better get all this crap out of the way before the meat of our schedule! We will need all of our players. However, I dont think they were picking on him because he was a player. Loaded or not, it was consealed. You cannot carry a consealed weapon without a permit. Some cops would have let it go but some are just way to ate up about there job
