Greetings everybody! I haven't posted much lately; been too busy traveling with work but I thought I'd use up some web space to say what's on my mind:
Only 100 more days til' the chase for the SEC Title begins in Athens, GA!!! The toughest conference in all of the land.
Dawgs & Tigers & Gators OH MY!!!
The SEC is the juggernaut of the college football world and the proof is in the pudding. 9 SEC teams finished in the Top 15 of the FINAL AP Poll during the past 2 seasons. The past 2 Nt'l Champs hail from our beloved conference. Here in Dawg Nation we have extremely high hopes that our boys in Red & Black will make it 3 straight Nt'l Champs from the SEC. But us Dawg Fans must remember, we have a MIGHTY TOUGH ROW TO HOE and it won't be painless, let alone easy.
It begins in Athens with the Eagles from Ga. Southern & it ends in Athens with those hated Jackets from Ga. Tech. To complete the circle, along the way we must conquer: Chippewas, Gamecocks, Sun Devils, Crimson Tide, Vols, Dores, Bayou Bengals, Gators, Cats, & Tigers. Should we prevail through those 12 fights, we shall meet the Best of the West under the Dome in downtown Atlanta. Should we somehow come out victorious in that last epic SEC battle, it will be time to pack your sun screen Dawg Nation cause' we'll be going to Miami. Ahhhhhh yes, sunny Miami in early January…I can think of no better place than the Magic City for a chance to earn the respect of the college football nation against a mighty & dangerous foe.
These are the tremendous challenges we face my fellow Dawg fans. Can we possibly HUNKER DOWN oh so many times when the game is on the line? I don’t know, but I do know that I wouldn't want it any other way; would you? The country's most brutal schedule offers a sure fire path to the promised land. Only 100 short days til' our QUEST FOR RESPECT begins! Is this the year of the Dawgs? Is this the year we've all been longing for since 1980? With nervous excitement, a heart full of hope, & a steadfast faith in our team, I can honestly say, I BELIEVE that it is! Still, I have rambled long enough now, for soon enough our mission begins. Either our hopes will fade to disappointment or our dreams will turn into reality. As fans, we tend to look ahead with our eyes on the prize but our beloved team must heed the words of our leader, Coach Mark Richt, and simply FOCUS ON THE MOMENT!
I am so ready to see them Hairy Dawgs GATA I can hardly stand it!
