Quality Coaching Proven

First off, I enjoy football. Whether played on the playground or in some multi-million dollar stadium. It is a great game that takes a lot of preparation to become proficient at.

With the upcoming NFL draft this Saturday, read one portion of the NFL site that really caught my attention. One of the talking heads listed the top 100 choices, probable picks by the NFL clubs. Not one UGA player was on the list of 100. That really took me off guard at first, then after some thought came to a solution that most of us on this board recognize. It is a team game, not one of a handful of stars and headline grabbers. We had a team that was constantly in the top five at the end of the year. What that says to me is, some damn good coaching going on in Athens. So, rather than get my feathers ruffled, makes me stick my chest out a little further. It truly speaks volumes about the UGA coaching staff and all that are associated with the program. A number of the same players coming back this year, many talking heads are saying UGA is the best in the land. From the Athletic Director all the way through to trainers and grounds keepers . . . UGA truly has a team concept, a concept that I think started a long time ago, but with the addition of Coach Richt, it has found a new meaning. Go Dawgs.

One other thing Buc.....only a few players left from last year so there are but a few even going on to the NFL. Now there are some still in Athens that would make the NFL's top 100 RIGHT NOW !!

Bodes well for the next few years, huh!!

wlayton, reminds me of a certain comment made last year to a defensive player. Coach said move over to the offensive line and make the big bucks. Smart coach. Smart player. The Big Tuna and his group in Miami just handed out a handsome contract to a big left tackle. You are right, there are many potential pro players on the UGA roster now. I was surprised not to see Howard mentioned, he can play in the league.

Guess they are concerned with his size at 6'1\" 225 or so but I too was surprised that I haven't seen him projected by any scouting service.

We have good, moral coaches. My brother owns a business in Athens. He recently dealt with Fernando Velasco. My brother couldn't get over what a polite kid he is. That speaks volumes of our commitment to mentoring these young men and recruiting kids with character.
My brother's a good friend with Coach Searels. Saban tried to get him to go to Bama but Searels loves Athens and Coach Richt. CMR gives his staff time for their families, what a man.
A footnote; Searels was not at all happy with the Oline in the spring game. Let's hope these kids don't buy into the hype. We have to win them one at a time. Nobody's giving us any thing.
