First off, I enjoy football. Whether played on the playground or in some multi-million dollar stadium. It is a great game that takes a lot of preparation to become proficient at.
With the upcoming NFL draft this Saturday, read one portion of the NFL site that really caught my attention. One of the talking heads listed the top 100 choices, probable picks by the NFL clubs. Not one UGA player was on the list of 100. That really took me off guard at first, then after some thought came to a solution that most of us on this board recognize. It is a team game, not one of a handful of stars and headline grabbers. We had a team that was constantly in the top five at the end of the year. What that says to me is, some damn good coaching going on in Athens. So, rather than get my feathers ruffled, makes me stick my chest out a little further. It truly speaks volumes about the UGA coaching staff and all that are associated with the program. A number of the same players coming back this year, many talking heads are saying UGA is the best in the land. From the Athletic Director all the way through to trainers and grounds keepers . . . UGA truly has a team concept, a concept that I think started a long time ago, but with the addition of Coach Richt, it has found a new meaning. Go Dawgs.
