In case my fellow Dawgs haven't realized this.....

I know I wasn't aware of this until I read the AJC this morning, but are any of y'all aware that we have absolutely NO experienced placekickers this season? Coutu and both his back-ups graduated. I sure hope someone can fill in the breach that we have with the loss of Coutu to graduation.

I thought I read where we picked up a kid from South Florida that was kicking 60+ yd fg's and kicking out of the endzone on every kickoff? :S

We got the kid from Miami and Butler's kid but your right, no experienced kickers.
It is a concern how they'll do under fire.
Go Dawgs!

I guess anybody will be a better kicker than Bailey was, though.....even the great Hap (Hapless) Hines. Bailey was just dreadful. Every extra point was an adventure with him, and he always found a way to make the routine look exciting. I will never forget the misses that cost us wins against UK and Vandy in 06. I think he missed 2 or 3 in each of those games, and also missed whenever Coutu tweaked his hamstring and was out this past season. Thank goodness Bailey is gone. I dont know where we would be if he was the starter.

No problem guys. No FG's this year, just TD's.

Secondly, if Bailey was still our kicker, I would ONLY go for two after TD's and go for all 4th downs in FG range.

BTW, this might make ya'll feel a little better about the kid coming in from Miami that has a HUGE leg.....he got permission from his High School coach to kick off the ground his whole senior season to get ready for college ball.....pretty impressive I think.
