Morning Coffee and LOI's...

Well, TE Dwayne Allen has apparently signed his LOI w/Clemson--shucks!
Well, I guess we owed Clemson one since we got AJ Harmon!
This means we have an open scholarship---who wants it?

And this is after his shenanagens (sp?) yesterday when he went up to the podium with the Clemson and UGA hats in hand and just COULDN'T throw away the UGA hat because he loved CMR and Bobo. So he threw away the Clemson hat and put on the UGA hat and committed to us.....too wishy washy for me. He's a great player but we are still loaded at TE.

Sounds like the Dawgs are pulling in a top-notch class.

My Cowboys aren't doing too badly, either. This looks like it will be our fourth straight top 25 class, which is the best recruiting stretch in school history. One thing you guys will be interested in... last year we lost a recruiting battle with the Vols over an Oklahoma City kid. This year we won a battle with them over a Memphis kid.

Hey guys I don't want to be a wet blanket, but recruiting is a \"crap shot\" at best. Some of these 4 & 5 star recurits somtimes don't live up to their high school hype, get injured, can't \"cut the mustard\" in the classroom, or are just plain lazy and are not willing to go through the pain of mat drills in winter and two a days in the fall. Don't get me wrong, I think the Dawgs have a great class and should be ranked in the top 5 in recuriting this year. I just have to wait for spring ball for the guys that came in early and fall practice for the rest of the class. I hope they all turn out to be all world, but time will tell. It's kind of like all the national champion hype that's being put out on this board, I just have to be patient and see what unfolds next fall. Our schedule is a killer with many big games on the road. Guess I am just a realist and have listened to Larry & Vince too long. I always pull for the Dawgs and always will, but I'm a wait and see kind of guy. As always, GO DAWGS!!!!!!!!!

He'll regret that.
But like wlayton said, who needs him if he's just all about the spotlight and putting on shows. Obviously not about the team.

It is true that 4/5 star players sometimes don't pan out. However, if you look at teams that have won MNCs they are loaded with 4/5 star talent.
