In Like a Lamb...

According to the Lamb polling system (which IS recognized by the NCAA, if not by anyone else), the University of Georgia Bulldogs were the 2007 National Football Champions, giving Uga a \"sixth gold ring\" (for those of you who remember my \"Rocky Top\" parody from a couple of years ago). Of course, like the 1927 and 1968 rings, it's not one that's going to be very easy to defend. In fact, not even I claim the 1968 MNC that the Litkenhaus poll gave us, because we just didn't deserve it at 8-2-1. The '27 Boand/Poling NC is tainted because we lost to Tech.

The '07 Lamb National Championship is going to go up on my wall at a slightly less prominent position than the '46 Williamson poll championship, because it's slightly less frustrating that every other poll didn't make us champs as well. 1946 -- those of you who've read my previous posts on the subject know the rancour this year inspires in me -- was definitely more frustrating. But we have our one poll. Next year, let's get THE REST OF THEM!!!!

I have not been able to find one. I have been researching this thing for a little bit now and I'm starting to doubt its veracity, because I can't seem to find it anywhere. I may have jumped the gun on this one, Dawgs...keep them eyes peeled, though!

I think you may have been hoo-dooed on this one, dapolla. The only place I can even find a Lamb polling system is under the Georgia Bulldogs entry in wikipedia.org, which of course can be added to by any average joe. ncaasports.com only lists the BCS, AP, and USA today as polls they acknowledge since the advent of the BCS, and of all the polls they have listed before that there is no Lamb poll that I could find. I imagine some wise guy UGA hater added it to wikipedia, and made up the name lamb as an insult.
