Well we survived again. We keep trying to give games away and I suspect some emphasis will be given to hanging on to the funny little ball this week. One thing is certain, we will not have a losing season this year like our friends from UT had last year. For that I'm thankful. We need to have our no mistakes "A" game this coming Saturday. UF is good but not bullet proof. We need a complete game like the UT first half. Since most have indicated that Matt is the man lets hope he learned a lot from his throws this week. Congrats to him on his first and second TD throws and hopefully many more to come. (don't throw it into double coverage Matt the odds are against you) Our running game is not up to par and I can't understand why Danny isn't running with purpose. Our defense isn't improving as I expected and there will be a severe test in JAX this week. Glad CMR is giving new looks on offense and providing some questions to our upcoming opponents, whether he can get the team to execute better remains a question, as it has all year. Naysayers can spout doom and gloom but this is the SEC, and we've beaten a better UF team in the past when we were not supposed to. As always GO DAWGS, skin the Lizards!

Oledawg, I agree about the way we've played and about the things we CAN do. It seems to me that we have lost confidence in ourselves and have a mental block of sorts. Yesterday, I saw one key issue that I don't think can be fixed in time for Florida. That is the beef up front. Nick Jones was the only one throwing good blocks. Inman gets stupid penalties and pulls out of his stance to quick, and he's a senior! Harris showed up on receiving, as did Tripp Chandler, who is from not-to-far-away Woodstock High School. It's nice to see an unknown guy make a big play for us on 4th and 1. It was also nice to see Brannan Sutherland play the way he did. He is just a force. Lump played pretty good, I still don't understand Danny Ware, and Mark Richt finally opted to throw the ball downfield. It wasn't an absolute bad day on offense. Defense, Moses finally came to play, as did big Johnson, Tony taylor still never ceases to amaze me (steal in the NFL Draft), Kelin Johnson and Jarvis Jackson both layed on some big hits. Our D didn't play too bad with the exception of our corners getting beat again. That scares the hell out of me, especially with those big, fast UF receivers. We'll see what happens. This game will seperate the men from the boys. IT'S ALL IN YOUR HANDS MATT! GO DAWGS!

Hate to say it but with a 14-13 victory over lowly Colorado, back to back embarassments at home, and a 3 point win over the SEC east powerhouse this weekend, I think the men and the boys have already been separated.

Where is the leadership and swagger we have had the last few years? I have yet to see it in any game. Confidence and swagger go hand in hand and we lost it, UF has it. We need to step up and take it away !!

Actually, oledawg, MS threw his second and third TD passes this year(he threw one against Western Kentucky, too, when CMR burned his shirt).

I know I've had a rather depressive demeanor lately, but the MSU game this weekend did prove one thing to me: we can score if and when we want to. We just can't defend. If Stafford doesn't throw those three(!) interceptions against Mississippi State, the score is around 27-3, and that's if we DON'T score on the three drives he threw picks on. The same is true of Tennessee, who scored 28(!) points on turnovers against us. If Stafford can control his passes and drive us down the field and KEEP THE DEFENSE ON THE DAMN BENCH, we have a shot...a long shot, to be sure...but a shot.

Then again, Richt always gets offensively conservative against UF, so who knows what'll happen. I'm predicting a 38-27 Florida victory.

OH HUNKER DOWN YOU JUNKYARD DAWGS!
