...Dwayne Allen to don the Red and Black after Coach Johnson's departure since Lilly was recruiting him at FSU. This from the Tallahassee Democrat--tallahassee.com:

FSU recruiting coordinator Lilly headed to Georgia

Florida State recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach John Lilly is apparently off to Georgia where he’ll join Bulldogs head coach Mark Richt, who at one time was Lilly’s offensive coordinator at FSU.

Georgia is expected to make a formal announcement by Friday or Saturday, according to FSU sources.

The decision comes with national signing day on Feb. 6 just two weeks away. Lilly’s roles as tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator are not expected to be filled until after the current recruiting process is completed.

FSU head-coach-in-waiting Jimbo Fisher has already been overseeing much of the Seminoles’ recruiting effort — especially on offense. Fisher is expected to have input in hiring Lilly’s replacement, which likely won’t happen until after recruiting.

Lilly’s departure is not expected to have a major impact on FSU’s current recruiting efforts, although FSU has been in the running for Georgia commitment Dwayne Allen, a tight end from Fayetteville, N.C. FSU has 18 commitments and three prospects enrolled as part of the 2008 recruiting class.

Lilly has been at FSU for 13 seasons, including 10 as the program’s recruiting coordinator. FSU brought in Bob LaCavita last year as director of player personnel to handle administrative duties relating to recruiting.

Under Lilly’s direction, four of the past six recruiting classes have ranked among the top four nationally.

Lilly turned down an opportunity to join the Alabama staff a year ago. He will become the fourth former FSU assistant coach at the University of Georgia, joining Richt, who served as Florida State’s quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, as well as Dr. John Eason (receivers coach at FSU) and Dave van Halanger (strength coach at FSU).

sadlerdawg, my guy says CMR has no scholarships available, all full. I know, some people WILL take one away from a walk-on etc to get the guy but don't believe CMR will do that or he already would have done it 2 weeks ago while trying to land Hunter (who by the way 2 weeks ago WANTED to come to UGA but CMR said there was no room). Looks like we are done unless one free's up.

If Coach Richt gives you his promise, take it to the bank, no games with this man. That's why we'll continue to get quality players and coaches. Who wouldn't want to work or play for Mark Richt?

wlayton, I was under the impression he was one of our initial 25, I thought they had a verbal and a scholarship for him, and some people were speculating his commit may have gotten shaky when Coach Johnson left--maybe I'm thinking of someone else...
