All 6 of these goals are possible and I can actually say this with a straight face. Since CMR arrived in Athens I felt certain that great things were in store for the UGA Football Program, I just never really expected to have such a realistic chance at such lofty goals as the ones you've presented here. I'll be honest though, as much as I admire, respect, & appreciate CMR, I've been very frustrated with some of his play-calling and especially with his clock management skills over his tenure at UGA. I'll be blunt, I've had huge doubts about his ability to manage the clock in a tight 2nd half games in past years to the point of screaming at the TV or screaming for a Timeout from my seats. However, since handing Bobo the offensive clipboard, I have seen a drastic change in CMR's in-game tactics and an amazing improvement in his clock management ability. This cannot be understated in the SEC where so many games are decided by a single TD or less.
As for your goal list, I would most like to see goal #1, part 1 of 2 accomplished, win 1 Nt'l Championship. Part 2 would be icing on the cake to me. I'm fine with just plain ol' cake though.
#2 would be a great accomplishment for an individual player & would certainly gain the UGA program some long overdue Nt'l recognition however, as I think many here would agree, the Heisman just doesn't have the same prestige that it used to carry, say back when Herschel won it!
I'd LOVE to see #3 get accomplished. My dad went to AU, my sister loves yelling War Eagle, Deep South's Oldest Rivalry, enough said. #3 needs to say, take back the LEAD in the AU series.
#4, I DESPISE UT, (who doesn't) and since winning the SEC is often tougher than winning the NC (take this year or 2006 for an example), this would be a great accomplishment.
#6 is probably a long-shot at best. When BAMA won 28 straight the SEC was not as balanced as it is nowadays, but if UGA could even threaten this record, that would be as impressive a run in the SEC since SOS's Gators mopped up the competition throughout the mid 1990's.
Well Dawg Fans, for us to even be dreaming about accomplishing such things says a whole lot about the state of the program being run by one CMR in Athens, GA, and that is something to take a whole lot of red & black pride in! Only 138 more days til' Glory, Glory! Man, I can't wait for 08!
