Mission Possible . . . .

Worry wart that I am sometimes, have been having thoughts about the upcoming season. UGA is now wearing the hat that many are saying will be a crown.

The schedule we are looking at this year is going to be magnified in intensity by all of the SEC schools. We all know that we have some, many, outstanding athletes, possibly the most ever assembled on the UGA campus, especially if the incoming class is signed and delivered as projected at this point in time.

Coach Richt and all of the Georgia coaches are going to have to be on the top of their respective games. If we come out of the 2008 season and end up wearing the crown, then I would have to think that it might just be the best year ever at UGA for the players and coaches. Not to mention US.

The SEC now is not like it was back in the day, you can take that as gospel from me. Looks nothing like the game that was played back in the 50's, 60's and on and on. Coach Richt, you are going to be questioned, tugged and pulled at like never before.

I hope that we can stay healthy and of course focused. The national media is going to be sitting on top of us, waiting for a slip-up. If the last seven games of the season are any indication of what the future holds, BRING IT ON. We only want our JUST DUE. Go You Hairy Dawgs!

Right again Buc but worrying about the '08 season is a WONDERFUL THING!!! It sure beats the alternative, right Buc? Bring on the expectations, bring on the pressure, bring on the media with their microscopes.....believe me, we WANT ALL OF THAT. That's what the team works for, it's their passion and desire to be THE best. NOW they have their chance, so BRING IT ALL ON......because it sure beats being on the outside looking in!!! Right Buc?

wlayton, think that all of us have waited a long time for this. After watching our team finish the season in such a hell bent for leather fashion, I know that they are ready for and being prepared well for 2008.

There will be some surprises, different looks and schemes. Notice that Auburn is changing their offensive setup, and if they go with the new offense, think that it plays right into the hands of UGA's speed.

Not a lot of new wrinkles that Florida can insert into their plan. Our guys have faced their offense, so I am really looking forward to Jacksonville this year. Did notice that one of the talking heads on ESPN ranked Florida at #1 for the upcoming season.

LSU is always a tough match. Especially when we have to travel to Louisiana for the game. Never really know what to expect from that team, LM is capable of just about anything. For sure LSU always has a lot of talent, remind me a bit of UGA, good, hard, smash mouth football.

Reason I slipped back into my long wind mode wlayton is because I totally agree with your post. To be a champion, regardless of the sport, you have to have passion and desire to be the best. The above paragraphs just go to show this . . . . UGA is not dodging anyone, playing the best year after year. Should not say this, but will . . . . not like Ohio State that makes its way into a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP (Supposedly) and gets its butt kicked by two entirely different football schemes, and the two teams that did it are from the SEC. THAT'S RIGHT, I SAID THE SEC! Go Dawgs!

I agree next season will cause me to loose what hair I have left.

Every year my buddies and I have a running joke at the beginning of the season and predict the Dawgs winning it all. This joke has been running for the past 14 years. The only difference this coming season is that we may actually mean it this time.

I think anybody with an ounce of intelligence would agree that we have one of, if not the, toughest schedule in '08. So many tough games and we all know how playing in the SEC is. It is always a miracle for any SEC team to go undefeated, even more so today.
If we win the SEC in 2008, we should play for the BCS period.
