averagedawg, I think back a short time, remember so many of our in-state players going elsewhere. Since Coach Richt and his team of coaches arrived, much of this has changed.

Having someone like Harmon considering UGA pleases me. Again, I think it is a credit to this coaching staff to stay poised and in the running for such a talented player. You don't win the war if you aren't first in the battles.

This young man can go anywhere he wants to go and that includes ALL of the major colleges. Think that Southern Cal or Oklahoma or LSU or any of the others would not sign Harmon in a heartbeat . . . know what I think.

You are absolutely right about MR, he will do more than teach this young man football plays. Quick note . . . My cousin Julie Campbell a UGA grad used to baby sit for the Richts. Julie said that Mark Richt and his family are just as they appear, good, wholesome, caring folks. Yes, Mark Richt would have a very positive effect on Harmon's life, both on and off the field.

If he chooses to go to another school that won't break UGA's back, if he chooses to sign the letter with UGA, then either our defensive or offensive line has another potentially great player.

i dont want to give the wrong idea here, i would really love to have this kid on the team and i know what he has to go through because i watched a lot of my friends go through it when they were getting recruited in high school. But it is all this flip flopping he has done PUBLICLY. He was comitted to clemson. 100% even. then he remains comitted to them but visits UGA, and at the game saturday he commits to the Dawgs. Up to this point, UGA made a great recruiting maneuver and stole him from Clemson, Im overjoyed for both AJ and the Dawgs. but now he is definitley 100% committed to the Dawgs but not really 100% comitted. Now he has started to PUBLICLY play games with both schools which i think is wrong. There are recruiting coups like it seemed UGA had done with AJ, like we did with Marcus Stroud all those years ago. But now it seems that he is just taking us all along for a ride. Im just not a fan of people that publicly play these games, so im just hesitant to judge what kind of character this kid really has. I dont want to rbing him down at all because maybe he is just having second thoughts and made a mistake comitting as early as he did. I would love to see him in Red and Black, this was just the impression i was given from his hesitant but solid commitments

His high school coach says he has a problem trying to please everybody. Hope he stays with the Dawgs.
Buc, Coach Richt's the class act of college football and has some decent coaches too, family guys. I particularly like Rodney Garner, really mentors those kids and look at his record with that D line. It's great to win but it's awesome to win with class.
Go Dawgs 2008!

jacketexterminator24, this is what the forum is all about, give a little take a little. I know this, you are a Dawg, and that I can respect. All of us hope that AJ Harmon does what is right for him first. Like averagedawg said, he is trying to make everyone happy and that is impossible. If he chooses to be a Dawg, that will be a step in the right direction for this young man. Lots of class associated with our coaches and players. I appreciate reading your opinions. Go Dawgs!

Buc, finally back to my computer!! Yes, I am very excited about Harmon, can't ever have enough of the \"beasts\" up front. From what I have just read, he needs UGA's program not only for his football career but also for helping to meet his needs off the field. Family is BIG on that staff and there is NO better man to play for and learn about the important things in life than Mark Richt.
