What neighboring state rival do you wish we had?

Which of the following \"powers\" from a state that borders Georgia do you most wish the Dawgs had an annual rivalry with? Which one are you most glad that we don't play on a regular basis?

Florida: Florida State, Miami
South Carolina: Clemson
Alabama: Alabama
North Carolina: North Carolina (not a power anymore, but we got into some good scuffles with them back in the day), Wake Forrest (rising program in the ACC)

My pick for \"would most like to see rivalry with\" is Alabama. By the end of the next decade (sometime during 2010-2020), if the trend continues as expected, we should have more SEC championships than Tennessee and overtake the lead in that series. That would make us, not the Vols, the clear-cut #2 all-time program in the league, behind Alabama, and it would be ridiculous for the program with the most national championships and the most SEC championships to not have an annual matchup against the program with the second-most SEC championships.

Clemson would be my next pick, because it could be such a great border war of intensity near that of Georgia-Florida. Clemson is about the same distance from the UGA campus as Georgia Tech is, so students from either school wouldn't have very far to travel, and things could get very hostile. Plus, they are simply a better program with more tradition and a more worthy opponent than South Carolina.

The team I'm glad isn't on the schedule is Miami. Keep our boys out of that Ghetto.

According to league rules, you only play one out of division school every year. Our opponent is always Auburn, the SEC's oldest rivalry. Tennessee plays Alabama every year. What with Saban, I don't think I want to play Bama AND Auburn every year. I think it's okay the way it is. Look at next year's schedule, don't want to add a Clemson to the mix.

averagedawg, I agree with you on Bama and Auburn. We play them every year and it is tough. You really don't know what to expect.
The SEC is going to get better and better in the coming years. We have the best coaches in the nation, so pick any team you play every year.
We have a rivalry with Bama, which has only gotten crazier with Saban going there, but not to worry. He doesn't stay anywhere long. Auburn is pretty bad too, Tubby lit a cigar and stomped our tiger eye (middle of the field) after beating us badly several years ago.
I'm sure you guys know all about Auburn though.
