\"Show Time\"

Watching the \"talking heads\" today on the tube, and it just reinforced my thoughts about the upcoming Sugar Bowl game being the best game to watch this New Year of 2008.

Terry Bradshaw on FOX stated today that \"Colt\" is the real deal for Hawaii. Said that he has a cannon in that right shoulder and arm. No doubt he said, \"Colt\" will play on Sunday after graduation. I haven't seen that much of \"Colt\" this year, like a lot of the folks on the mainland, but have no reason to doubt that. TB said that he keeps those eyes downfield, does not show a lot of fear.

Thought about that a bit, and this was what came to this old fart's mind. . . . Coach Richt went to Texas not too long ago, and came back to Athens with his saddlebags loaded. Brought a \"Colt 45 Gunslinger\" of his own to town . . . . a dude that was being courted by every major program in the nation that thought they had a chance to land him. Some said he was number one at his position, some said that they had not seen an arm (excuse me, cannon) like his since, get this . . . John Elway. We have all watched the growth of this young man and don't doubt for a minute that he is \"locked and loaded\" ready to win this game for the Red and Black nation.

Have this feeling that we are going to see some formations that don't normally go with \"three yards and a cloud of dust\". I truly believe that we are going to see a game that showcases the talent that this team has, which is going to lead to maybe some unexpected surprises in the recruiting wars.

One last word . . . . Terry Bradshaw also said that he had talked with Coach Richt some time back, and said to MR that he would end up in the NFL, or had the talent to do that. Terry is impressed with Richt and so am I.

I will be watching this game with the rest of you faithful fans, enjoy this \"Colt 45\" that Coach Richt gathered up in Texas. Wishing all a happy and prosperous New Year. And Heck Yes, Go Dawgs!

I have thought about this game, and not much else, since it was announced. The advantage that Hawaii has is that they've flown under the radar, where we are much better known. I think the keys are pressuring Brennan, disguising our coverages, controlling the line of scrimmage and pounding the ball down the field. This would open up some nice vertical pass plays. I am excited for our kids to prove the naysayers wrong and show the world what a great team we are. I don't think this team will take this game too lightly.

I have concerns about this gaming from the defensive side. We haven't seen 4 WR's EVER like this from one team and I certainly hope Martinez and staff have a great scheme planned for this attack....and I mean ATTACK. I agree with you Buc and averagedawg and am really looking forward to see what we come up with on both sides of the ball. Everybody is looking for us to pound the ball (as I do as well) BUT CMR and Bobo may surprise everyone by showcasing Mr. Stafford a little more in this game (maybe an \"in your face\", we have a pretty good QB as well). Hope they don't try and get TOO cute though and like averagedawg said, if we establish our running game then MS can also have a big game.

I'm rambling because, as usual, I'm a \"nervous nellie\"(aka, a Dooleyism). Believe we are BY FAR the better team and just really want the college football world to see what we all know. The first 2 series on offense and especially defense will tell if we are \"ready\" and are going to punch them in the mouth. I want them to put a big time SEC hurting on those boys and send them back to their surf boards and hula skirts.

It's simple to me....if the Dawgs are really ready to play, they will dominate, if they come out flat, it could be a different style WVU game all over again. One thing for SURE...it will be an interesting game, maybe THE best of the bowl season.

Agreed wlayton, we need to be confident, not cocky. I too am concerned about the lay off. Hopefully, we're focused and execute well. I agree, we need to be in their face and hit them HARD. Happy New Year and GO DAWGS!

I agree with the sentiment that Georgia (and Florida for that matter) should dominate their games tomorrow if they come out mentally prepared.
That being said......... during last night's 'Bama vs. Colorado game, I kept having this thought that I could easily see both UGA and the Gators suffering the same lack of effort as 'Bama did.
What I mean is the early domination and then relaxing and not playing 60 mins.
As we saw last night, this can really hurt you.
