To Hell with Paulie

So Paul Johnson just gave a \"rousing\" speech to the Tech undergrads regarding recruiting and building his new staff over at the North Avenue Trade School. He was quoted as saying, \"The one thing I've learned over those seven days is, To Hell with Georgia!\"

Well, to hell with you, Paulie J. I don't know if you've been paying attention to beating anyone but Army over the last few years, but you have just entered a no-win situation. #1: We now own your ass. #2: Even if you manage to beat us at some point during your tenure - it's happened a few times in history - you're still at Georgia Tech! So it's a no-win situation!

In all seriousness, Paulie, welcome to the big-time. When your biggest rivals are Army and Notre Dame, you have no idea what to expect. Tech's biggest rivals are Georgia, Auburn and Duke. Well, maybe Duke's on your level. Then again, I think Dave Cutcliffe is going to start outrecruiting you pretty soon, and if the patience Duke showed Ted Roof is any indication, he should have a long time to build a successful program that will embarrass you a couple of times.

You're a Yellow Jacket now, Paulie. My condolences. We'll try not to do too much damage, but you still might have to have a closed-casket funeral. Your mama ain't gonna wanna see your face after we're through running over you. You know what bulldogs were bred for? That's right -- killing bulls and bears. You think you're safe behind that podium, that we can't hear you call us out from up here in the Classic City?

In fact, number two on your list probably ought to be trying to get UGA off your schedule. You might last longer than Chan that way.

But do you understand where the game is in your rookie season? Do you know what it is to play between the hedges? dapolla, the North Avenue Trade School was in the SEC once upon a time, as I am sure you are aware. They left for the ACC, thinking that they would take over that conference.

Thinks that will help him in the recruiting wars in the state, just stay tuned, UGA will keep that quote on the board . . . . I thought NATS was a tough school to get into, academically. Of course, that must exclude athletes and coaches, because he may well be the dumbest son of a beetch to ever step into that role. And I do mean, step in it. We've crapped all over Tech for so long now, the campus is beginning to smell like the back yard in one of those Florida trailer parks...all dawg. And what the hell kind of name is Paulie anyway. Paulie is the name of a guy who frequents the Blue Oyster Club. Paulie is a name for a guy who dresses a little too well, and who can accessorize his living room. Paulie is the name of Uga's chew toy, except that Uga has too much class to chew it, so he buries it and then cocks his leg to water whatever might grow there.

I am really shocked. I thought Johnson had more class than that. I guess he's trying to fire up his base. This gung ho, run over you approach only works if you have the talent to back it up. Next year they are gonna run into a buzz saw. The team color is gonna be the color of his pants next year at Sanford Stadium.

You are underestimating the man. He will bring back respectability to GT. Hell, anybody that can take Navy from 1-10 to a respectable 8-4 every season has got to be doing something right. Especially since the academic requirements are much higher there than at most schools. He will be running a different offense, too. No more of that glorified wing-t. Look for more of the spread option.
