CMR talking to the Falcons?

The big to-do on one of the Gator forums is a rumor that CMR is talking to the Atlanta Falcons about a coaching job! WTF? Has anyone hear this rumor?

I think it's probably all BS, but with the kind of money they are talking about, anything is possible.

That's crazy...why would he want to go anywhere much less the Falcons?

Coach Richt will never leave Georgia unless he is forced to, besides I think he realizes that he makes plenty of money where he is. Florida fans wish he would leave....I can't even imagine Georgia having another head coach for a long time.

This was on a Gators forum, BIG SURPRISE, I think they're just PRAYING for no more DAWG parties to break out in the endzone at Alltel Stadium
Also, the guy who leaked this rumor says \"his girl is an administrative assistant to Rich McKay\". While she indeed might have heard or seen CMR's name mentioned, I would not exactly consider her to be the most reliable of sources. Interesting rumor though & who knows if it's true. Regardless, I agree with wlayton & w/lots of the Gator posters who said, why would CMR leave UGA now w/such a great team & recruiting class returning & why in the world would the Falcons go back into the college coaching ranks after being severely burned by Petrino (of course, we are talking about the Falcons so you never know).

Personally, I would like to see the Falcons bring in either Marty Schottenheimer or Mike Singletary.

My uncle in Athens does prison ministries with CMR monthly and I'll tell you this: CMR is going NO WHERE! Unless he is fired by UGA, he is in it for the long haul (and his word goes a hell of a lot further than Mora's, Petrino's, heck even Les Miles....)
He and his family are rooted and money isn't an issue with him. He has a loyalty that is undeniable. That's just Gator talk trying to pump each other up for the possibility of the best coach in the NCAA to leave and it's just not happening!

By the way, the Falcons are letting their secondary coach,Emmitt Thomas, be the interim for the remaining 3 games of the season (or so it is said...we'll know by the press conference at 2).

I agree with you miss_uga. My brother's kid went to school with Coach Richt's kids. They love Athens and are there for the long haul, Thank God. We gotta good one.
