Heisman Watch

The Heisman to me quit being relevant back when Charles Woodson won. I haven't paid much attention since.

Don't tell me your starting to get on that band wagon GATOR. Tebow was hurt blah blah blah. Football is a team sport. The Gators lost to the Bulldogs, not Tebow. We had our two starting rushers out for the game and had to rely on a freshman. Turns out his really good. If you don't have someone to rely on like we did, it's bad recruiting. You come up with valid points a good bit. This is not one of them. Hurt or not, he was sacked six times. That has little to do with Tebow. That has something to do with his line. GA has had his number since last year. I do believe we were the only school to make him fumble( last year ). We just might have his number, regardless if he's hurt or not. I was gaining so much respect for you GATOR. Dont' turn into an OSU fan with your excusses.

And for the record, I think he deserved the Heisman. He did more for the gators than any other player did for his team. Even if he wasn't the one scoring, the threat was there. So teams tended to spy him more, which of course will always leave someone some where else unguarded. He's a good kid, and a good player. I think Urban is riding him like a cash cow, but that's neither here nor there.

I certainly can't say he didn't deserve to win even though I felt McFadden was the best \"football player\" in the country and am not going to get into an argument why.

I do feel that Tebow needed to win it this year because I don't think he can the next 2 years (maybe 1 year). He may be the favorite but he won't be able to take that kind of punishment again next year and believe they will have a legit RB that will share in the carries = less TD's.

Also felt a little like Myer knew they weren't in the NC hunt so he geared Tebow up for the Heisman for \"UF recognition\" and for prominance in recruiting....just my opinion. (self serving)

I agree that DM should have gotten the heisman.But with that said,I don't think anybody is more deserving than Tebow.You cant fault him for playing in a scheme offense.If Colt would have won it would't we be saying the same thing.If the big island team isn't a scheme offense I don't know what is.Don't get me wrong,I've been a UGA fan since 78,and can't stand the Gators,but Tebow did what he was told and did it well.Congrats Tebow because this will be short lived.Moreno stay's healthy next year,and the trophy comes back where it belongs.Moreno will be the second sophmore to win the bronze.

I agree with you Layton on two points. Most of my opinions are self serving. I believe most true fans are. I also don't think Tebow will run as much next year as well. Same reasons as stated.
