Hey Everyone,
I have been lurking here for some time now, and I must say ouch! A lot of the comments about University of Hawaii (UH) are brutal; however, those comments are understandable. After all, all avid fans are just passionate about their team.
On one thread, one said that they are from Hawaii, but is a Georgia fan. I don't know what part of Hawaii is that person from, but that was the first time I have heard about UH being disappointed facing a two loss team and I religiously (in a good way
) run the sport section of one of the biggest message board about UH. If I see someone being an ethug and talking smack about someone or something, they automatically gets the banhammer. Like I said, have not heard that before. UH has a lot of respect for every team that they face. A parade was supposed to be held here, in Honolulu, sometime this December for the team, but UH's coach turned down the offer from the city because he wants his players to be ready and focus. He knows that UGA will be the toughest team they play all year.
From reading the other threads, yes, some of UH's fans are obnoxious. I agree with everyone here. Those obnoxious fans are just ignorant and don't have respect for others, but not all fans are like that.
Regarding about the Florida fan, yes, UH's coach said some negative things about Tim Tebow, but his intentions was not to demean him. When he was interviewed on ESPN, he merely made those comments because it's his opinion, of coarse, and it was also a PR move for Colt Brennan. He just wanted to stir a controversy to the media so they would talk about Colt - for the Heisman. After all, majority of Heisman votes are from a media panel. Most media panels in the east coast are already sleeping when UH play their games. Majority of UH's games are in the west coast and they start their games between 6-9 PM - that would be 11PM - 2AM ET. How would those media panel know or even consider someone they have not seen?
A comment about Hawaii's test scores being one of the lowest in the country, yes, that maybe somewhat true, but that doesn't mean everyone here are stupid.
And most of all, UH's schedule was one of the weakest in the nation, but that was something they couldn't control. UH offered to play Michigan on their house and refused to play us, and instead, they played Appalachian State. Michigan St. was on UH's schedule also, but they ended up changing their mind and wanted out. So they payed six figures just to be removed. I understand that UH's schedule is nothing like the SEC - which is the tougest, but UH beat all the teams that they are supposed to beat. Isn't that one of the things that makes a good team - beat those who you're supposed to? You can't say that with the rest of the nation's FBS. I am just saying, but weren't UGA supposed to beat S. Carolina? Maybe even... Tennessee? And Weren't Michigan supposed to beat Appalachian State?
Judging from major UH message boards, no one is talking crap about the Dawgs. There are actually a lot of so called UH fans saying UH will not have a chance due to UGA being bigger, faster and stronger.
With all that said, don't feed the troll. Instead, throw me some peaches.
