Sugar Bowl Opponent?

#5 UGA (10-2 ) takes on undefeated Hawaii (12-0) in the Sugar Bowl.

Sounds impressive right? Wrong. Who did Hawaii win over to be undefeated? Only 2 teams with winning seasons, one of which was a ranked team, if you count #19 as ranked.

Here is what Hawaii has to show for their 12-0 2007 season:

Now bear in mind that most of these teams, with exception of North Colorado, UNLV, Charleston and Washington are all in the WAC Conference. Fresno State and Boise State, both with winning records for the year have the majority of their wins in that conference.
And they still keep talking smack about UGA…….Let them come play in the SEC for 8 games and see what kind of record they would have then!!!!

For what it's worth, Hawaii had the #117 out of 119 strength of schedule.

Also, for what it's worth, Oklahoma State had the #1 strength of schedule, including playing 3 teams that are playing in BCS bowls.

It will all be settled 1/1/08 in New Orleans. Go Dawgs!

I think a 12-0 team has to be taken seriously. Obviously, you don't get to be 12-0 by sucking. But still, it was against a pathetically weak schedule. Really, after looking at their schedule they don't look much better than Troy.

Thank you, much appreciated. My Pokes played a freaking brutal schedule this year. At times they looked darn good. At times they didn't. The defense must improve. It doesn't matter how good your offense is, you can't win championships without solid defense.

I think the Dawgs are as good as anyone in the country. I've said before, and I'll keep saying it until it comes true... HCMR is going to win an MNC. It is just a matter of time. Even though they got left out of the BCS two-step this year, everyone was talking about them being a deserving team. Being part of the conversation is a big part of the BCS game. Take care of business against Hawaii and the Dawgs should start the year in the Top 5.
