BCS Nat'l Champ

Ok, you've prolly heard by now that if WVU loses by some miracle and Mizzou losed to Oklahoma(very possible) then Georgia being number 4 should be number 2. However people are saying that since georgia didnt go to the SEC championship game they dont deserve it. To those people i say YOU ARE DUMB!! Georgia beat Florida, who just happens to be LAST YEARS CHAMP!!! they also beat Kentucky, who by the way beat LSU when they were number 1 when they beat them. So i ask you Georgia doesnt deserve it?!?! The only reason that Georgia isnt in the SEC championship is because UT got lucky and the dawgs had a bad week. After that Richt loosened up and Georgia has been an unstoppable force in the SEC.

The precident has already been set: Nebraska and Oklahoma (2001 and 2003, I believe) both played in the title game without winning the Big 12. So, if they can let a Big 12 team be in it without winning their conference, they can let an SEC team be in it without winning theirs.

I would probably support a rule change to make it so that in conferences with a championship game, if two teams tie with the same record in the division, BCS rank rather than head-to-head results is used to determine who goes to the championship game. In other words, the SEC championship game would always feature the highest ranked team from the west against the highest ranked team from the east.

Works for me.

I've been a fan of Big 8/12 football all my life, growing up in Oklahoma. The Big 12 has benefitted twice from teams making it to the BCS championship game (it isn't a national championship because it isn't awarded by the NCAA) - Nebraska made it one year after losing to Colorado in the final game of the season thus making Colorado the North division champs, and Oklahoma after losing to Kansas State in the Big 12 championship game. I firmly believe that no team that fails to win it's conference deserves to be in the BCS championship game. If you ain't the best team in your conference, you ain't the best team in the country.

That said, if the Dawgs somehow make it to the BCS championship game, I'll be cheering for them.

Yeah, they need to go ahead and implement that rule. You have to be your conference champion to play for the NC.....hey, that means ND will never play for another NC!! See already has merit!!

UGA could be the most undeserving team in the history of sports and I still wouldn't care.

Put UGA in the NC....and have us win the NC? I would take it...I wouldn't care if people forever remembered it as the most undeserving NC ever....a NC is a NC
