A messed up situation...

The word on the street is that if West Virginia and Missouri both lose next weekend, Georgia still won't go to the BCS National Championship game. Several voters have already come foward and said that if that happens, they'll vote either Oklahoma or LSU into the #2 spot, simply because Georgia isn't a conference champion.

So, suppose WVU loses to Pitt and Missouri loses to Oklahoma.

The BCS says:

1.) Ohio State
2.) Oklahoma (OU boosted artifically b/c of UGA's lack of SEC title)
3.) Georgia
4.) Kansas

The AP Poll, on the other hand, gets it right and leaves Georgia alone. So, their poll looks something like:

1.) Ohio State
2.) Georgia
3.) Kansas
4.) Oklahoma

Now, say Oklahoma beats Ohio State in the BCS title game, and the rankings end up as follows:

BCS: 1.) Oklahoma, 2.) Georgia
AP: 1.) Georgia, 2.) Oklahoma

Another split title year.

If we win out of course.

Chem the only thing you missed was no matter if Ohio plays in the title game or not they will lose look at how they have played this year and the only team with speed that they play they were beat by.so just like you said split title year. but they would put any other 2 loss team over us becasue of the title issue.So no matter what happens we will not play for a title.the thing I hate is that we could easily be a 1 loss team but on the flip side we could also be a 4 loss team( bama vandy ).

Coulda shoulda woulda, all very valid points. Lets just take out all of our aggression on who ever we play. I for one am hoping for the other USC. I would love to smear there good name ( as the experts call them) with a good ole fashioned souther but wooping.

I am pulling for the situation to get so screwed up everyone even the obstuctionist morons in the Big Ten realize we need a playoff.

Oklahoma played in a BCS Championship Game without winning the Big 12. I'm with kentdaddy, an 8 team playoff.
