If anyone ever tries to take away the arch, my reaction will be nuclear.

Thanks for the memory kentdaddy. Below are a few things that I had mentioned some years back. My Grandfather is shown in the still photo of Engine 208. Also, the video shows my Grandfather at work, notice the coal burning 208 doing her stuff. Grandfather used to take me on board when 208 was in Gainesville on weekends during switch engine cleanup of the tracks. I would pull the the cord to ring the bell at every street crossing in Gainesville. Wonderful memories. Time certainly moves on. My Grandfather and Engine 208 covered a lot of tracks in Athens, Winder, Jefferson and other towns.

Household keepsake of my Grandfather and Engine 208.

For some reason I can't get a photograph of my Grandfather and his fireman in a still photo to print here on board Engine 208.

Whatever, a special time in Buc's life.

Thanks again kentdaddy for remembering. :)

Unfortunately, I have only heard stories about watching the game from the tracks.

Still, they are a unique & iconic feature of the Athens gameday experience.

After every home game I exit my seats on the Southeast corner of Sanford & stroll (grinning & head up or discouraged & head down) the entire length of the tracks back to my parking spot on Oconee. Something therapeutic about walking down the rails

I am excited about the winds of change in Athens this offseason. Hoping we get some of that "MEAN machine
in Red & Black" back!!!
