BCS Bowl

Do teams that finish in the top 10 in the BCS standings automatically get a BCS bowl, or does that only apply to mid-majors?

What happens if we win the rest of our games this season and end up ranked like 8th, but Tennessee also wins out and we don't go to the SEC championship game? Would we still get a BCS bowl by virtue of our rank?

We could possibly get one in that scenario, and probably would, but the only guaranteed BCS bids are for #1 and 2 in the standings, and the champions of I think, 6 conferences--SEC, ACC, Big 1, Pac 10, Big 12 and Big East, I believe. LSU did the scenario you described last year and got the BCS bid, even though they didn't win the SEC.

Not exactly because if you remember back to the $hitty 2002 year we should have played in the NC game agianst the Suckeyes of the little ten (and would have won) but we were screwed into playing in the sugar bowl(not that i'm saying that i dont like playing in the sugar bowl but we should've played in the NC game against the suckeyes) against the 15th ranked 3 loss Criminals of fla. st. So this is the reason that I hate the bowl system and want a play off of some kind.

Most pundits agree that if we win out, we will get a BCS bid. I just want to keep seeing Ws. What matters more to me is the SEC championship.

I agree with both of you about the sec title but right now in stead of having five NC titles we should have 7 (2 nationally recognized one and 5 shared ones) with our last one coming in 2002 with our only loss coming to fla gaytors.
