Go Dawgs!

Before 9/11 there was Pearl Harbor…..
Yes this was another generation…
Yes we no longer teach and study what this event means to our history….
However I again wanted to acknowledge and thank our veterans… for their service….
Freedom is not free ……. History has repeated this many times….

Wise words...
Freedom is never free and it was paid for in blood.
Maintaining it requires constant vigilance as the threats to infringing on it are constant.
God Bless the USA

Yank, December 7 is not seared into my brain like September 11. Just because it was before my time. Thanks for reminding me.
I was just a few days ago reading about Bob Dole passing. I knew he had some old war injury’s, but didn’t realize how severe his injury’s were and how close to death he was in the battle field and then several close calls in his two year hospital recovery. I asked my wife to get me a copy of his book, One Soldiers Story, as a Christmas gift. She told me yesterday there were no copies available at this time. Not even remembering it was Pearl Harbor day, I thought it was good enough folks read about his death and wanted to buy his book that they were sold out. He was a hero.
I went with the family on a nice trip to Hawaii ten or twelve years ago. Went to all of the islands and lots of good memories. Visiting Pearl Harbor was without doubt the highlight of the trip. It is treated as it should be, sacred ground/water. You are ferried out to the wreck in small groups by us navy sailors.

Too many Americans have not experienced share sacrifice. That is why we have this whining, entitled segment of society.
