Not too long ago on Dawgs.com there was discussion about empty seats and scheduling. That conversation took place prior to Kirby Smart arriving in Athens as head coach. There were some vocal threats or suggestions that the FAN base had better take notice and start filling those seats. That really started in 2010, year sound familiar? . . . . Remembering McGarity again, he started that talk not long after being "handed" the current position he holds.

Was also discussed on this site that "more than likely or a strong possibility existed" college football playoffs would probably expand to 8(EIGHT) teams, not all agreed, to be expected. Seems Kirby Smart spends a lot of time thinking about the "total picture" surrounding UGA Football. One would think that restructuring the schedule would fall under the Athletic Director's purview. McGarity made the media/public announcement(s) concerning schedule change, but it is a given the "thought process" was handed to Greg McGarity. Ever hear the term "middle man" . . . . That is the way Greg McGarity's business card should read . . . . Greg McGarity, Middle Man.

Copied from the site below.
"The tables have turned," McGarity said. "At one point in time, we might have taken our fans for granted to a certain degree. What puts us in the best position to be successful? I think these young men who play the sport are competitors, too. The dynamics have changed."

WHAT THE HELL DOES "TO A CERTAIN DEGREE" mean in this particular case?

              Scrooge’s thought process is confusing.....

Imho adding quality opponents adds to the success of the recruiting process..

Better opponents for home games makes for a happier fan base

And season ticket holders get added value .....for their ticket costs

Murray State...or ND....both home games ..which has a better chance for prime time

National TV. Coverage....no brainer....that’s why Scrooge has a problem processing..
