Sitting on the fence also yankeedawg1. This will be a good derby for a relative unknown.
All of us have opinions about name changing. With you on Sanford Stadium, will always be that for me.
Lots of chatter nationally about top coaches and programs. Higher rankings basically awarded to those that have won National Championships. Top of the ladder at this point . . . . Alabama, Clemson pick and choose ones choice(s) after that. Want to be penciled in on that list . . . . Win National Championships or consistently reach the Final Four, which I expect to see Final "something else" in the not too distant future.
Football has risen to such a lofty level there is a mad scramble for everyone to be a part of the top tier. That comes from coaches that do their job, called program building. Alabama and Clemson have done just that. Smart and Company are trying, showing yearly improvement. 2019 as has been discussed here will tell not just Georgia FANS how far we have grown, it will be viewed nation wide. Yes, another team from below the Mason/Dixon Line, for too long that was not a part of the NATIONAL VIEW. Truthfully . . . . Coach Nick Saban changed that "process". Coach Bear Bryant changed the view of Southern College Football for a span of time. However, it took Saban to totally unlock the MEDIA DOORS to SEC FOOTBALL and the depth of the SEC.
Sanford Stadium, the field that Erk Russell introduced UGA FANS to the term JUNKYARD DAWGS and it became known to all what Georgia Football was and is "again" about. Kirby Smart understands and has the support of those that like to reflect on the truth of history.
In South Florida yd1, tomorrow participating in a Seafood Boil for a large group of folks, lots of football talk and great seafood also watching the Derby. Have a great "fill up" on the seafood of your choice . . . .
Go Junkyard Dawgs . . . . Coach Them Up!!
