Change Needed

Remember when "Pistol Pete" dribbled into Athens with the LSU team. Young man lit the place up, and along with that changed the way basketball is played for the most part in my opinion.

Being nice does not seem to get results that are wanted by those footing the bill. Football seems to have made a great change in a short period of time. From where I sit, that is called "Leadership". Some follow, some lead.Smart forced McGarity's hand when he put one foot in the South Carolina door, time for McGarity to be "pushed" again. Do not see our basketball program progressing under the current "lack" of leadership. Football is definitely number one, that however does not mean that Georgia's basketball program has to remain in a state of flux. Say again, two (2) million dollars a year for Fox is not the recipe for our program getting much better.

Bear Bryant speaks in the video below. Leadership not only comes from players . . . . applies to coaches also. Feel we (UGA) faced the fact that a football coaching change was needed and our percentage in football improved with the change. Bear's lesson in leadership needs to be applied in more than one area in Athens. Just saying . . . .

We will never be Kentucky, but we could be what we were back when Durham was our coach.

Our basketball program is unacceptable to me for a school with our resources. We need to get our baseball program going again as well.
