From Athens- Game Day Friday #3

Good Morning All,

Thoughts and prayers continue for those still feeling the effects of Harvey and Irma….. real easy to take so many blessings for granted…..

Been much made about how well the Dawg Nation traveled to South Bend….. world knows now how we feel about our football
team… extremely passionate …….

On a similar subject…. Been impressed by how well our group has stepped up and been able to disagree while not being disagreeable…

Fact is we all are just voicing opinions ….. Fueled by a shared passion for wanting our team to be successful…

There has been an ongoing comparison between last season start and this year…. Are we better or not…..???

Thus far…. Biggest improvement….. Kicking game… Special Teams..

Praise God…… we finally have a kicker who can kick the ball out of the end zone for a touchback …… a real good thing….

A punter who can actually flip the field….. another really good thing…

I believe that our HC used the scholarship to motivate our place kicker..The off season work he did..shows….. kudos to Kevin Butler also for very valuable coaching….

Better players..well coached…. Producing results on Special Teams… love it…

Yes I know secondary is at times …. Lacking…… however..
The overall defense….. getting close to Junkyard Dawg ability…..we will get better…. Also having quality players to build depth….

Not going to venture comments of the offense beyond acknowledging it is a work in progress… while we have the two best backs in college football…. Getting the rest of the cast members performing at a higher level…. Is the challenge …… one that I am following closely …. Like many others are….

As I noted in an early post…. Happy we have this home game against a
Lesser opponent before SEC play starts…. A really good thing…

Without changing our team culture and improved coaching …. ND game would have ended like our Tennesse game last year…imho..

First four games at night….. love it…. Wolfpack….hunts well at night..

Want us to come out fast and dominate…. Let offense feel what getting in rhythm feels like….. leave wilddawg at the Varsity…..
